Re-Tipping and Claw Work
Re-tipping or re-clawing as its also known is replacing any claws which have worn down or snapped off. This is done by filing away the old claw and soldering a new one in its place, it is then filed into shape and burnished. Occasionally if all the claws are worn we would recommend a new setting if we feel this is needed to ensure all your stones are totally safe.
Our Repair Process
As the repair is received it is digitally photographed and stored into our database. It is then fully assessed by one of our jewellers who will examine exactly what work is required. We will then contact you by telephone to discuss the exact requirements, time-scale and the price. Please note no work will be carried out without your express permission.
